What We Do
agapekids Church
AgapeKids Church is a place where kids can come and feel welcome. During our time together on Sunday mornings, the children come together in small groups where they start off their time together with an activity. The small groups come together for a time of worship through song and and an interactive Bible story. The children go back to their small groups for a time of deeper discussion and activity about the story they just heard. When it is time to leave, we send our kids home with a God Time Card and a Refrigerator Door Card which are tools to help the parents continue on with the lesson during the week and bring the family together.
Sunday Morning Curriculum
252Basics
Here at Agape we use the 252Basics curriculum by ReThink. This curriculum is based on the scripture Luke 2:52 “And Jesus grew in wisdom, and in stature and in favor with God and man.” There are three important yet simple truths that are taken from this verse and taught to the children every week. Those truths are: 1. I Need to Make the Wise Choice, 2. I Can Trust God No Matter What, and 3. I Should Treat Others the Way I Want to be Treated. Along with teaching these three truths, there is a virtue that we focus on each month with Bible stories and activities that tie it all together. Agape Nursery
Our nursery program runs during our Sunday morning worship service along with the adults and elementary age programs. We have loving volunteers in the nursery that play, teach and care for the little ones. There are several stations set up around the room that help teach the little ones, even at a young age, the importance of prayer and worship and God’s Word. We believe that it is never too early to start teaching a child about Jesus. We have taken three truths from a wonderful curriculum, FirstLook, and have applied them to our nursery ministry. They are: 1. God Made Me, 2. God Loves Me, and 3. Jesus Wants to be My Friend Forever. They may be simple but they are the beginning to building a solid foundation of truth about Jesus Christ at a young age.
