Agape Outpost was founded by Dwane Jackson, a man who knew God’s grace and forgiveness in a powerful way. He went from serving a Leavenworth prison sentence to acting on God’s vision for an outpost of His love.
From 1980-1983 meetings were held in various locations around Breckenridge. Then in the summer of 1983, Dwane and his wife Sonja and many others lovingly gave of themselves to build Agape Outpost.
Our Vision and Values
Vision
To see passionate disciples of Jesus Christ equipped to reach up to God in worship and to reach out to people through ministry
Values
Genuine Worship - Worship is so much more than singing songs on Sunday morning. Worship is a lifestyle that should be walked out every day of our lives. Everything that we do “whether in word or deed” should be offered to the Lord as an act of worship. We desire to be a church that genuinely worships God both through our congregational worship and in our daily lives.
Empowering Bible-study - “the Word of God is living and active” our desire is that as you study God’s Word you would be empowered and equipped to “reach up and reach out . . .”
Effective Prayer - “the earnest prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective”. Prayer is one of the vital ways that we connect with God. Through prayer we are able to enter boldly into the Throne of Grace. It is our desire that we would be a church that earnestly seeks God through prayer.
Authentic Fellowship - is anywhere people genuinely connect and are encouraged and challenged in their relationship with God and others.
Relevant Ministry - God did everything possible to make sure we understood His message. In order for us to pass His message on, we must use what is cultural to say what is timeless. The message does not change, but the way we present it must be relevant to our audience.
Intentional Mission - is being “on mission” “on purpose” all the time, everywhere we go and everything we do is about reaching the lost; whether overseas or in our own back yard.
