Our mission
The mission of Agape Outpost Chapel is to encourage genuine worship and equip the Body of Christ for significant ministry to the people of Summit County and the nations.
Our history
Agape Outpost was founded by a man who knew God’s unconditional love. Dwane Jackson went from serving a Leavenworth prison term to serving Jesus as founder and pastor of Agape Outpost.
From 1980-1983 meetings were held in various locations around Breckenridge. Then in the summer of 1983, Dwane and his wife Sonja and many others lovingly gave of themselves to build Agape Outpost.
By God’s grace and the willing obedience of many people, Agape was built debt free with the help of more than a thousand volunteers. A 7,000 sq ft addition was completed in September 2003. It was also built debt free, yet we are indebted to the many loving laborers who have donated their time, skills and resources.
The meaning of ‘Agape Outpost’
The word ‘Agape’ is Greek for God’s unconditional love. An ‘Outpost’ was a frontier settlement where weary travelers could find rest, companionship and needed provisions to continue their journey.
Our desire is to be an Outpost of His Agape love, where each person finds the needed refreshment, love and provision through an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ, and that they, in turn, are a walking outpost of His unconditional love.
